More news from realme at MWC2022 includes the launch of the new GT2 lineup.

Keep your eyes on the site for an exclusive unboxing of the GT2 5G a little later on today.

Right now though we are looking at Europe’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered device the GT2 Pro, which is positioned to be the flagship of the GT2 range.

realme call it  “The World’s Fastest Android Processor Supercharged by Stainless Steel Vapour Cooling Max”

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, adopts advanced 4nm process technology and the world’s first ARM v9 architecture, delivering 30% peak performance and sustained efficiency all kept in check heat wise with the industry’s largest heat dissipation area in a phone at a staggering 36761mm² for up to 3°C of cooling to maximise the chip’s performance.

The cooling area is constructed with an all-new 9-layer cooling structure with a 4129mm² Stainless Steel VC area, providing sustained peak performance.

Top of the line specs and lots of manufactures big numbers aside for a minute, that you come to expect on a Pro model, according to the information provided by realme, this phone also appears to be made out of paper, or to be more specific a Bio-based polymer that is less environmentally damaging than other fossil based mobile phone construction materials.

Lets just say it’s made from recycled stuff that does less damage to the environment during production, to keep it simple.

Coming back onto the technical specifications and features, being a flagship device it features the usual range of high end numbers and hardware.

As I have seen previously from realme devices in the past, the screen isn’t going to disappoint.

The GT2 Pro is sporting what realme call a Super Reality Display, which is built to deliver incredibly realistic visuals that feel rich, natural, and authentic, providing an ultra-high-resolution display with a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

A 2K AMOLED Flat Display with LTPO 2.0 technology, the Super Reality display has been created using a 6.7 inch E4 AMOLED with over 4.5 million pixels and a whopping 525 pixels per inch.

The greater pixel density means text will appear sharper, and images will show an amazing level of detail such as individual blades of grass or strands of hair.

The Super Reality display has outstanding colour performance with a 10-bit colour depth.

This level of colour depth can produce 1,024 shades of red, green, and blue each, adding up to an impressive 1.07 billion colours in total. That’s 64 times more colour information than a typical 8-bit display, which can only produce about 16 million colours. The display can reach a peak outdoor brightness of a massive 1,400 nits, making it one of the brightness in its class.

LTPO 2.0 technology, the display can automatically adjust the refresh rate from 1 to 120 hertz and everywhere in between to see improved battery life.

Enabling GT mode 3.0, offers 1,000Hz instant touch sampling.

The GT 2 Pro has received an A+ screen quality score from DisplayMate, the highest possible score and to make sure the display stays looking good, protected with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus.

No Pro version would be complete without a decent camera setup offering a range of camera features to help you get the best possible pictures.

The GT 2 Pro adopts a triple-camera setup featuring the world’s first 150° ultra-wide Camera and a 40x micro-lens camera.

The 50MP primary camera draws into IMX766 flagship-level sensor with all pixel Omni-directional PDAF and OIS features.

A 150° ultra-wide Camera can shoot extreme panoramas, giving you a 278% increase in the field of view for your images compared to most main cameras 84°. Taking advantage of the 150° enables realme to introduce the world’s first fish-eye mode in a smartphone.

In addition to all the above, it is equipped with a 65W SuperDart Charge enhanced, massive 5000mAh battery, advanced Antenna Matrix System and Dolby Atmos Dual Stereo Speakers and comes pre-installed with realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12, offering 3 years of supported updates.

The GT 2 Pro Starts from £599 and will be available from the 8th March in the UK.
